Enrico Labriola is used to photographing luxury.
His photographs, already present in the historic Grazia Neri archives, are now part of the agency Getty Images, the top photo agency in terms of the number and high standing of the professionals on its books.
At the annual charity auctions that Sotheby’s Milan organizes for the non-profit organization CAF (aid centre for maltreated children) Enrico’s photo of Marrakech 2007, along with those of Giovanni Gastel, Oliviero Toscani and the Mulas archives and other famous names helped raise 124,000 euros for problem families.
Powerful men and women, famous people, actors, fashion designers, these are Enrico Labriola’s regular subjects.
All the same, while he photographs, his attention, his energy is not focussed on the personalities’ luxurious details, but on their pose.
“Luxury in photography is represented by gestuality. Nothing detracts more from a photo, making it banal and commonplace, than the wrong gesture, likewise vulgarizing the piece of jewellery or item of clothing presented”.
